On Inn - Black Bull, High Bentham

Image of Black Bull, High Bentham

This was our 3rd visit. We also visited on...

The Black Bull Hotel situated in the Market Town of High Bentham, perfectly placed between the villages of Ingleton and Clapham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales

We stock a variety of Thwaites beers and supply a great range of foods with some very special offers.

Bentham

In the bleak midwinter:
In the bleak mid winter, hashers all made moan
Bentham stood hard as iron, water like as stone
Snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on bloody snow
On our full moon hash, last Tuesday night

Away in a manger:
Away on our hash r*n, no flour for a trail
The freezing cold hashers with hats on their heads
The stars in the bright sky looked down where they ran
The lune valley hounds, no crying they made (Not much anyway!!)

Ding dong merrily on high:
Honk honk, merrily on high,
The hash horn was a blowing
On on, merrily they cried
Their thirst and hunger growing
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
It's bloody freezing out here
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Are we at the On Inn yet?

We few hashers from Lune Valley
Wearing our thermals we've travelled not far
Field and footpath, road and towpath
Following yonder chalk (and other peoples' torchlights!!)

Once in High Bentham city
Stood a sorry group of hashers
Where Upperskirt had her babies (Well, 2 of them, struggling to get out of the warm car!!)
'Aunty'septic made them shake a leg!!
Tinsel, torches and high vis
Why the hell are we doing this?!

Here endeth the nearest thing I got to a carol service this year!!
