This was our 1st visit. We also visited on...
Cask ales from Thwaites, Hawkshead and Timothy Taylor.
The sun came out and 9 hashers including two hares appeared at nearly the furthest away run yet. Everyone present looked resplendent in the new hash T-shirts that caused a few titters from passers by - nice one No More Cum.
Off we all went on the first run that Pick Me Up and Forever Blowing had set on their own and we soon came to the first check, quickly followed by the next check, rather short check backs girls - who set them?
All went well until we came across (or rather did not come across) a check near to Booths supermarket. At this point as we searched for the trail the front runners (Hash Drunk and Lurch) found flour and eagerly followed a trail until with dismay we realised that we had found the in-trail, either that or this was one of the shortest runs on record. Eventually the correct trail was found and we then soon came across the split between Wimps and Rambo's, the Rambo's (Harry, Lurch, Bubbles & Hash Drunk - in descending order of fitness) set of along a very scenic loop with lots of nice viewpoints, but very little flour. At this point I was convinced that this part of the trail had been set from the car, ok I may be wrong about that.
The Rambo's trail eventually took us back into town where there was more confusion as we seemed again to be following the trail but going the wrong way. Forever Blowing maintains that the "ON - ON" was really "NO - NO", this was all far too clever for us, however we did catch sight of the Wimps and finally follow the intrail - for the second time that day - back to the ON - INN.
The sun was still shining so the Down Downs were awarded in the park.
The On On was at the Sun Inn - beer and nosh
