This was our 2nd visit. We also visited on...
Looking back through the haze that was this wonderful weekend! This is what we all remember!
Firstly we ruined the silence of the Duddon Valley by arriving! Wirral and Chester claimed the penthouse suite not realising that we were already in residence in the sheep field - or maybe they did realise...
Bubbles arrived for the start of the run, sweating profusely which made the Wirral lot panic! This was to be the ridiculous run, the commando run, the jungle run.
Luckily there were no broken ankles as we made our way through chest high bracken - had it really snowed in July or was it flour from heaven to mark the route from one rocky outcrop to another?
Bubbles shepherded everybody round - to ensure everyone appreciated or at least claimed to appreciate the lovely views - while all the time being doubtful that we actually getting closer to the pub... dinner... and beer! Baldbrick fell flat on his face claiming that the rocks were worth examining at closer quarters!
But lo... at the end of the run there was indeed a pub.
Other late arrivals then gathered together... had they heard about the run and chosen to arrive in time for the lock in? We will never know.
Food and drink and banter was shared by all and everyone eventually dragged themselves back to their canvas bedrooms.
