On Inn - Longlands Hotel, Tewitfield

Image of Longlands Hotel, Tewitfield

This was our 3rd visit. We also visited on...

With nooks and crannies, old beams and a bit of an uneven floor, our bar is typical of an old-fashioned country pub where villagers meet to relax and welcome visitors to this lovely corner of the English countryside. Our wide range of hand pulled ales will capture the imagination of anyone who loves real ale, for others we have a selection of lagers, bitters, and unusual spirits.

Hutton Roof

Even before the r*n started three hashers were lost. Baldbrick, Upperskirt and Furcoat couldn't find the start and had to catch up the rest of us.

The weather was wet and misty and the sheep must have been hungry for flour so at times it was only because the Wimps had Twisted (using intuition) as FRB did they find the way to the beer stop.

We had two guests from the Westmorland Gazette running with us (a photographer was also there but he wouldn't run with his camera) and they seemed to be enjoying themselves but were too enthusiastic at the beer stop. They disgraced themselves by jumping a fence to get to the beer instead of backtracking to the stile.

The guests arrived at the circle well shiggyed and were asked their opinion of the r*n after their favourable comments we gave them a down-down to show what we thought. The lost souls gained a down-down and also some underdressed individuals without Hash Haberdash. The best down-down was given to White Noise who hadn't come at all because of the weather and so her long suffering husband Off his trolley had to deputise for her.

The majority of hashers adjourned to the Longlands for chips and beer but I went directly home as I knew I was nearing the limit.
