This was our 1st visit. We also visited on...
Wimbledon, the World Cup and of course, the Olympic Games. The arrival of Strawberry Foreskin & Leanover from Athens as our guests reminds us of the spirit of the Olympic Games which is the bringing together of people in peace to respect universal moral principles.
Anyway, all were gathered in a penguins back garden awaiting the late arrival of the septics. Upon their arrival, our stand-in GM, No More Cum, launched us off into the unknown following a convoluted briefing from the Hare.
All went well as we flowed over the countryside like bronzed Greek atheletes until we got to Curwen Woods. It was here that a select few were abandoned by the pack whilst checking the trail. We returned to find that the pack had picked up the trail but not scratched out the open check leaving us to recheck!
This is where the Olympic spirit of peace was discarded by those left stranded in response to the packs lack of observation of the universal moral principle of MARKING THE ****ING TRAIL!
Now I've got that off my chest...... we continued over stunning limestone pavements, along a lovely stretch of canal and on back to the penguin enclosure.
Down Downs were duly awarded:
Strawberry F*resk*n delivered two Down Downs and presented an Athens H3 shirt to Thunderdick and Wednesday (who refused to take off her old top first)
Our GM Emeritus, Bubbles, presented Cyberseptic with his 100 R*n Tankard - bit like a Gold Medal for going the distance and coming first (Antiseptic would know about that).
I suppose we should really have next been eating Tzaziki, Keftedes and Mousaka if we were continuing the Greek theme but no, our delightful hosts produced a range of exotic Indian currys for our delight.
Following events of our weekend away, it was good to feel warm and dry!
Until next time,
Visitors
