This was our 5th visit. We also visited on...
Stouts Bar serves beers from Thwaites and Bowland Brewery.
Er, hello, er, not done one of these before so I'm a bit nervous.
Well, I enjoyed it....... Oh, you want more?
OK. A goodly turn-out on a day that looked poor but brightened as we went round. Route took us down the head of the Wyre through valleys strangely reminiscent of the Quantocks, for any of you familiar with that part of the world.
It was all a bit unfair because the first half was all downhill so, yes of course, all uphill for the return. However, sustained by some birthday choc cake at the beer stop, we made it back. Followed shortly by two Who Shall Remain Nameless (because I don't know all these bloomin' names yet) who had arrived late and never caught us up, having unwittingly thrown in a steep diversion at one point. A plea to leave unambiguous signs for stragglers was heard!
Deservingly, most retired to the pub in Scorton in Sunday sunshine. At the risk of sounding creepy - good outing, thanks.
That was a bit tame really wasn't it?
