This was our 2nd visit. We also visited on...
On waking today the weather was not kind but as if by magic the skies cleared sufficiently for LVH3 to gather inside the Three Mariners on Damside Street where we were able to partake of a swift half pre r*n.
The acting GM (Major Twit) used a unique and extremely scientific method to select the scribe (her husband) which essentially consisted of closing her eyes and pointing randomly to make a decision - basically the same technique she used to choose her husband in the first place!
A detailed hares briefing followed which can be summarised as "the first bit of the r*n is laid, we'll be going from pub to pub and the second half of the r*n will be live hared".
So off we went, over the Greyhound Bridge only to lose the trail in Derby Road. Back on trail our next problem was where we lost Lurch at an open check near the Puffin crossing by Carlisle Bridge. We all went over the bridge and back on St Georges Quay. Lurch was not seen again for some time!
The next 15 minutes was spent trawling the Marsh Estate where we experienced confusion at a check at Westbourne Road. Guided by the hares, we arrived safely at the John o' Gaunt. Well we did. Lurch didn't.
He only arrived after his loving wife, filled with concern, had gone looking for him at the same time that we were all leaving after a leisurely pint. Poor Lurch.
Live hared by Bubbles, we were ably guided to the Golden Lion where Morticia eventually appeared after the fruitless 'Search for Lurch'. Sorry Lurch, but no one else worried about you as we all know you're a big boy and can look after yourself - Morticia obviously knows different.
The final leg back to the Three Mariners was totally unmarked AND unguided. We made our own way back, all arriving safely.
Our founding GM, Bubbles, was awarded his 200 R*ns polo shirt for services rendered to LVH3 and then it was on on to the Golden Dragon where those remaining enjoyed good food and poor service.
