Ings - Chinese New Year R*n

What a good turnout for Highway and Chemical Alley's run. The world and his wife arrived at Ings for a run the hares promised would be short, flat, and dry. Lies all lies, there are hills in every direction it was just a matter of which ones?

So off we went in the direction of the first hill and the Rambos did a summit ascent then down to a beer stop where an oriental dessert was on offer courtesy of Layby ( see recipe ). Fortified we ran on in the direction of the next hill and along a lane to be met by the longest, deepest, widest, filthiest, most shark infested, snake writhing, leech squirming puddle on the whole planet. The only way out was to swim, it was horrific, I've had bad dreams ever since...

Anyway, I squelched up the next hill with various bits of wildlife teeming out of my clothing and dropping to the ground. The hens we passed enjoyed the slugs and at the 2nd summit the end was in sight.

Sadly there were no showers at the pub, but we were allowed in and enjoyed lunch.

Click here for the recipe of the Kuih Talam Chemical Alley & Kareen prepared for and was consumed at the beer stop. All ingredients are available from Mung Mee Foods in Chapel Street, Lancaster (next to the bus station). Instead of using fresh grated coconut, you can buy tins of prepared coconut milk.
