This was our 4th visit. We also visited on...
Beers served from Hawkshead Brewery, Coniston Brewery, Dent Brewery and Thwaites.
Lakeland used to have its celebrities, Wordsworth who walked extensively, Tennyson who honeymooned in the Lake District, Coleridge who found the Lakes so uplifting that he took opium and followed a road to dissolution.
Which brings me to the Hash and our pleasant excursion into the woods and fields of Witherslack, whither must we have wandered (apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson).
For a real celeb, when it comes to star value, our hares Thunderdick and Bedside Manner have been eclipsed by the fresh young Cotside Manner. Our youngest hare had the ladies gushing and gurgling, and indeed touching.
Now Madge too I think was looking for stardom heroically dashing through the glades with his bouffant hair held dramatically down with headband. Tell me if I'm wrong, but did he not look like an ageing version of Tommy Lee Jones as the manic bad guy on Under Siege.
If you buy that, who else could we just begin to imagine on our hash....
Now that leaves me with one hound, that I'm deeply struggling for a doppleganger. Maybe I can get by with the excuse that Hash Flash is behind the camera and not in front, so you won't see him on the run pictures anyway. But if you have any ideas, do let me know.
