Bolton-le-Sands

Your pre-Yuletide Write-Up – best sung out loud, quickly...

On the Twelfth Day of December my True Hash gave to me:
Fifteen Hashers Hashing
Eleven wimps a-wimping
Ten On-Inners a-lunching;
Through many streets a-slithering
And frosted fields a-gliding
While distant views ad-miring;
Frequent On-Ons calling
(altogether now….)
Five Antisocial Things
Four mince pies
Three closed checks
Two Turkish hashers
And a far ridge with lots of trees.

And your Christmas team spotting quiz – eight to find! (With apologies for the total lack of rhyming metre).

The Bolton-Le-Sands wanderers they did hash
Via burn, lea and bend
Past the black pool - that icy trough
And pressed on to the north end
Through the cold air
Wishing they had a wig on
But athletic to the end.
Alongside the icy canal, looking
Like a black burn cooking
Til the rovers returned with their hare
To the car, I’ll bury a down down there.

Merry Christmas all!
