This was our 6th visit. We also visited on...
17th century coaching inn serving Robinson's real ales.
The start of R*n 457 was cold! It felt like we might freeze to the spot whilst we waited for the off but once moving it was a glorious evening. The on-going NE wind that had brought the snow to the rest of the country (with a private supply for Lurch and Morticia) had frozen the ground so the mud was remarkable in its absence!
Bitter and Twisted had set another enjoyable run round Garstang, the canal and the A6. We set off at a run which soon settled to a gentle jog (or stroll) for the Wimps with two intrepid Rambos disappearing into the distance. Double markings with blue chalk as well as the more usual flour made this an easy route to follow especially with the tissue litter trying to resemble flour on some streets.
A full moon with clear skies made this run quite special. What a shame that photos do not do the sky justice!
Arriving back at he Royal Oak Hotel there was no Circle in the extreme cold. With dinner for some and drinks for others, we discovered that the knitting had been cast-on, the dreaded return made with a generous inch 0f length to show.
Thanks Bitter and Twisted for an enjoyable run.
