This was our 7th visit. We also visited on...
The moon was bright as we met at the On inn to start. Baldbrick passed around the whisky bottle from the bucket before we started. We had not gone 50 metres before we were lost or drunk on whisky and it was only thanks to the hare following us that we found where to go. As White Noise was poorly and not with us I thought I might be nearer the front of the group but this was not the case and from now on I will carry the knitting needles at the back. We dodged around the housing estates of Halton until we came onto the main road and then preceded in a easterly direction in the opposite direction to the on inn. As most of us had driven from the east we wondered about going home and collecting our cars in daylight. In fact at the check on the old railway track Fiddler on the Hoof set off for home. We had to call him loudly to make him follow us (he had come by bike so he thought it was easier to walk home). We gave him a Down-down for that at the circle. Minor Tw*t also was given a Down-down for front running. Although only five people stayed for supper the food was good and the service quick. We even took part in the pub quiz but lost as usual.
