Full MoonR*n 56 »

A mere 5 keen hashers (complete with Santa hats) met in the freezing cold Shrimp car park, Forever Blowing, Hash Drunk, Pick Me Up, Mal Function and Atomic Caton.  It was a full moon hash, yes; the moon was clearly visible through the cloud - just!

With no hare in site, Forever Blowing who'd had prior warning gave us a brief instructions.  On-on headed towards Morecambe town centre, only to pass two American style festively decorated houses!  A checkpoint led most of us into one of the more unkempt housing estates - not the sort of place you want to wander in the dark!  Here we acquired two young virgin hashers who decided what fun it would be to join us and were most interested in the trail markings, was it legal that white stuff?!  A million questions later and they decided they weren't running to Asda (either it seemed too far or they'd been banned from going there on a previous occasion)!  We spent a lot of time on one of the next check points and wondered if the trail had been sabotaged only to find that Hash Drunk had blindly run past a large blob while checking in one direction so ran back to the check with the rest of us!  Through a slightly more up-market housing estate this time and the trail led us to the college of knowledge - a superb trail and clear markings!  We didn't quite make it to the ski slope but we got quite a few wolf whistles and cries from a crowd of youngsters!

More housing estates and then a road which seemed to be leading miles away from the On-inn!  This seem to be a ploy by the hare as we were taken up over a muddy (well it would have been had it not been for the frost) field but could we find any trail - only bits of it.  We found out later that the trail should have led us to a trig point where we could have had a clear view of the moon!!  Eventually we found a style - Forever Blowing found something soft to tread in!!  Past a couple of busy "Inns" before we found our On-Inn sign!  The hare must have raced round because he was sat in the pub 3 pints later, leaving poor Harry outside freezing his bits off!!

Excellent run and great frosty weather!!
Down downs were awarded to:

  • Bubbles  - the Hare
  • Hash Drunk - for being blind

...that was it, far to cold to stand around in circles!!
