Hello Hashers, Balders here. I haven't done this job for a long while so here goes. All you peeps who didn't bother to turn out, well you missed a cracker, as we all know Dent and Dentdale are beautiful any time and the trail was extremely so.

It was well laid and marked, as you would expect from the Boss and his Boss, including very devious arrows on gates that could only only be seen once the gate was opened. Lots of green stuff with good views and a very large hill looming very worryingly close for a long while. Surely not we thought, but this is Bubbles country.

We eventually turned away from the monster mound back towards Dentdale only to find Highway coming toward us. He said he'd had trouble with a bus. I can only think that he is now so old that his bus pass has expired.

On downhill now and the downhill bits made us look good. On on to the beer stop in a quiet tree lined lane very near the end of the run. Back into the village we went toward the music and festival goers. The carnival atmosphere was ace. I wished I'd been there for the whole weekend.

The circle was held in the pay and display car park:

• White Noise was given a down down for going for a piddle in the pay and display toilets. The sight of her quivering cheeks protruding from the lavvy window will remain with me for quite a while.
• Morticia was given a down down for squeezing through a tight gate on a bridge without seeing the aforementioned devious arrow.
• I was given a down down for not bothering to open said gate, lazy old me.

We spent a couple more hours enjoying the music and the atmosphere and a large tonic water or two.

Some hashers stuffed their faces with really healthy fast food. I was disappointed because the hog roast had all gone. Probably a good thing when I look at my waist line nowadays.

It occurs to me that it would be good to have the summer hash weekend there when the Dent festival is on.
