This was our 4th visit. We also visited on...
Well, 5 days later and prompted by last night's full moon r*n, I am now trying to recall what happened last Sunday. This, due to my injured status, was only my second LVH3 r*n this year and another opportunity to get my Pacerpoles out for a bit of therapy.
Having located what I thought was the On Inn and parked up, I was promptly approached by hare Loose Elastic and told to shift my motor up the road somewhere, as this wasn't really the On Inn, but just a starting/finish point for the r*n and fully booked up well in advance for Sunday lunch.
There were a few familiar faces missing on the day and a few unfamiliar ones for me.
The r*n was perfect for me, covering various sorts of terrain, up and down and round about - just how I like it. As LE doesn't like cows, there were no fields with cows in and consequently no trampled ground for me to struggle with. The only part I had problems with was the Fairy Steps. As I had set runs around here on numerous occasions, I was familiar with the detour at this stage and made full use of my local knowledge. Although getting left behind initially, I was able to keep up a steady pace and never really felt that I had lost touch with the pack. If only I could say the same about reality.
By the time I got to the Ship Inn, the circle was already underway and all had made it back, apart from Highway at this stage. Various misdemeanours were acknowledged as usual and, after much deliberating a new name was found for Hot Lips's partner. She will now be known as Major Burns. The MASH connection was lost on me I'm afraid.
Thanks to the hares for another great hash day out and although Tarty Totty wasn't there, his contribution to setting the r*n is appreciated.
I cannot report on the standard of fair at the Wheatsheaf, but heard favourable comments last night. I made an early exit, as Cum Yak Yak was in town for a brief visit and we had a trip to Wallings to get in.
On on, No More Cum
