This was our 11th visit. We also visited on...
The Fleece Inn dates back to the early eighteenth century as an inn for travellers. Full of original period features such as old oak beams and fireplaces etc.
A tribute to Robert Burns ...
We think na on the long Hash miles
The mosses, waters, hills and stiles
That lay before us in Dolphinholme
Where rose our need tae walk and roam.
The Fiddler and Tom Tom Shanter
Led us o'er hills at a canter
O Tom! Hadst thou been but sae wise
As ta'an thy own flour advise!
So much flour was laid thegither
That we lost our Cyberseptic brither
Round in circles, who didst follow?
The lost brethren in the hollow.
Intae a circle, down downs not few
Hares, virgin, hats and a shoe
200 runs didst Minor make
A t-shirt he wast gi'en tae take.
Now while this tale of truth shall read
All hounds and hares must now heed:
When'er to drink you are inclin'd
On on! Shall be the call in mind.
