Tosside

After the 62nd run, 2 of the virgins did return and one was elected to be scribe - me - so here goes!

On a bright morning, which gradually got greyer, 10 of us left the Dog and Partridge in Tosside, following what turned out to be a well laid trail through the Gisburn forest.

As a relatively unfit new comer to this activity, when it came to a Wimps and Rambo split, I chose to be a wimp so have no idea what the Rambo section was like but they were not long behind us at the beer stop, so it can't have been that bad.

The trail was on a mixture of forest roads and narrow paths through the trees, made muddier by mountain bikers.

Taking the last long stretch of forest road at walking pace - our (my fellow virgin myself) excuse being the need to keep Malfunction company - meant that by the time we got back to the pub all the others had disappeared inside!

However, the GM dragged them all out again for the down-downs.

The RA picked out various sinners, including myself for "being too trendy". The others were:

  • Pick Me Up and Hashdrunk, taking a short cut - at least I think that was what it boiled down to,
  • Old Banger, mentioning the dreaded words "Risk Assessment" twice,
  • Malfunction, excellent, but not too much, blowing of the bugle

But we had stood around for long enough, the rain was coming and RA's sausage egg and chips were nearly ready so we quickly adjourned to the pub for an excellent lunch.
