This was our 1st visit to this On Inn.
Scroggs Wood - a place I must have passed many times without noticing this quiet corner of Kendal beside the river.
Slackbladder admitted to being high on the fine football result just achieved in Barrow and admitted that his eye might not be on the ball for the Hash.
However, not only had the trail been laid, but he delivered a string of detailed instructions, perhaps predicting that our minds might be affected by the full moon.
Following a pleasant riverside section, we were soon going ever uphill towards the moor. The summit location offered a choice of wimp, uber-wimp, rambo or even super-rambo. We divided along party lines into uber-wimps and rambos, having by that time been swept up by Slackbladder and his excellent assistant Clumsy Sod who advised us accordingly.
The full moon and its reflections in the river made for a fitting end and the carvery at Romneys was amply sufficient and good value (even appreciated by vegetarians).
