This was our 1st visit to this On Inn.
The new venue is bespoke, has a balcony overlooking the pitch and fells to the north, and is generaly very nice.
Kendal Rugby Club is no longer where we thought it was; not only that, it is a much more imposing, upmarket and salubrious establishment. Fortunately they were able to make exceptions to their strict membership rules and allow Slackbladder to become a member (it is who you know!) and as a consequence we were treated to a great value 'on inn' venue with spectacular elevated view of the hills which were on this particular evening bathed in sunshine.
This hash had strict timing issues in order to ensure that we were able to catch England's final group match of the World Cup. Slackbladder being very much aware of LVH3's limited ability to follow any trail which is not a continuous line of flour was so concerned about missing the match that he set a 'dynamic' trail which allowed him to monitor our progress, intercept and shortcut the route as necessary to keep us all on track for the kick off whistle.
Essentially looping Rambos and Wimps along various fields, tracks and roads in an anti-clockwise direction around and all within 1km of to stadium; a well marked, generally easy to follow hash with lots of variety - apart from OffHisTrolley and SirTomTom that is, who followed the only continuous line they could find - down the middle of the road, into town and back out again!
Bubbles undertook the care of BarrowNil and ClumsySod whilst CumBy did the fishhook, Baldbrick undertook care in the community by looking after the elders, UpperSkirt had usual don't care duties and ForeverBlowing undertook Man Crèche responsibilities late into the night.
There followed an on on inn and a further on on on inn - plus maybe a few more but this part of the hash was strictly for those that had completed the whole route. Three new Kendal haunts visited all of which served excellent local lemonade (!)
Well done Slackbladder on yet another hash skilfully laid and ineptly followed.
