This was our 3rd visit. We also visited on...
Luckily the storm like heavy rain had subsided by the time we arrived for the start circle and the news from the hares was good, i.e. 2 wimp/rambo splits and 2 beer stops.
It was noticed at the start that although Bedside Manner was present and raring to go, there was no sign of Thunderdick and Cotside Manner. 'Can't be bothered to come' was the explanation offered up. Similarly, although Bubbles was present (and not raring to go), Foreverblowing was missing. 'Can't be bothered to come' was the explanation offered up. Note.......another observant hasher had suggested that Faceache (which reveals far too much these days) suggested Foreverblowing was in Porto, so no wonder she couldn't be bothered to come to the hash.
Anyway, off we went and I soon adopted my usual lonely position towards the back of the hash. That being the case, I didn't set eyes or ears on quite a few of the others for the remainder of the trail, namely Whitenoise, Offhistrolley and Highway. Perhaps one or two others as well.
I should also mention that I haven't a clue where we went, although the trail was superb. Mostly off road with stunning views in contrasting light. It really was a treat. Some of the terrain was quite challenging which led to one or two queries as to whether everone would make it around in one piece. Fortunately they did, or at least I think they did.
At the second beer stop I noticed that a beer I'd been eyeing up earlier had disappeared. Ah well, someone had beaten me to it I summised. Well sort of, Detective Baldbrick noticed that Bubbles was in fact sitting on it, aided and abetted by Bat out of Hell and they had colluded to save it for later. Down Downs would be administered accordingly, or at least they would have been had we been able to meet up at the end.
Alas, despite the best efforts the hares to keep us all resonably together, it was not to be and a fair few of us ended up dispersing prior to any circle at the end of the hash.
With thanks to the hares for a superb trail.
On On, Bitter.
