High Bentham

The first surprise was that I attended hash, the second was that there was no Sir Tom Tom, the third was that Morticia proved she could get to hash early in order to assist Fiddler in STT's absence.

Already in holiday mode due to the weather I felt you couldn't round the day off any better than turning up for what felt like a summer r*n. What better than STT's favourite location, High Bentham.

We soon hit countryside with the two rambos, Lurch and soon to be named Chris, out in front. Us mere wimps never needed to check the trail so efficient were they.

What's to tell? Beautiful countryside, the sweet smell of farmyards, the odd train on the line and pleasant conversation all rounded off with food and ale.

Down downs for me and Lurch and then a naming ceremony. It turns out Chris is a proper runner - you know, up and down fells and all that. Oh, and a bit of orienteering as well. He was also a Postmaster so was duly named Large Package (after some deliberation and procrastination). A suitable name me thinks complete with all the required Hash innuendo and suggestiveness.

Well Sir Tom Tom, you planned a great trail but the lengths you went to to get out of laying it are beyond comprehension. Seriously though, we missed you. The Black Bull missed you. The bar missed you. The kitchen missed you. Get well soon!
