We were promised a traditional hash with flour and chalk. That's as far as I read on WhatsApp. Turns out you needed a bit more information to find the out trail and the first flour heap. Now I know who has been stockpiling it. All those lock-down months where flour was a luxury rarely featuring on supermarket shelves. Now we we know STT was hoarding it ready for his first post lockdown hash.

We'd only gone a few hundred yards along the road to Clapham when we first lost trail and a pair of runners also got lost following us. We thought perhaps they were the promised hash virgins, and invited them along with us. Turns out they weren't virgins, but nevertheless graced us with their presence for the remainder of our outgoing. Probably a mix of mirth and pity for us kept them going. They were up from London and might possibly check out a more local hash to them.

We headed down through a farm and over a barred gate into some extreme mud, evil stuff. Down to a bridge over the river. Somewhere between our pod going and later pods, natives erased the check.

We circled around South of Bentham and required more inside information that I had not bothered to read until we hit the town centre again, to find the beer stop. Somewhere on route was a large R which the author foolishly interpreted as a Rambo and continued long after any evidence of route would have manifested itself.

Sir Tom Tom and Wears the Soap have shares in the Bull at Bentham, I swear. They'd put up the beer stop in one of the entrances to shelter from the weather. It felt like the end of the run so leaving it for a further loop to make a figure of eight was tough. We followed our outward leg briefly before circling anticlockwise above Bentham.

The actual hash virgins were shepherded in by STT. Perhaps if we have future virgins, we should shadow / lead them around rather than letting them fend for themselves. Oh well...

We enjoyed the run. Thank you hares. My earlier Rambo sins were shared, so Hard Astern and Ready About were also dobbed in for claiming lack of fitness to join the Rambo pod. Morticia owned up to being too conscientious by FIddler (I've only just realised that Fiddler has other meanings than rubbing a bow over a stretched cat gut: short cutter would match). I've forgotten the other misdemeanors - my apologies fellow hashers.
