Morecambe - Day-After-The-Full-Moon!

Welcome back fellow hashers!

Many thanks to Large Package for putting on this splendid hash (no bias I promise).

As I was taking around a potential new hasher, I cannot comment on the activities of other people so here is a thrilling account of our adventures as Wimbos/Ramps. We started off by happily mounting the promenade to be immediately confronted with the first check. 100 points to Virgin Lloyd for shouting on on! very loudly when he found the first marking for the trail. Although not so far down the way he wanted to follow an arrow that was clearly part of a sign.

On to the rocky shore which only the day before had the waves crashing upon it but luckily by late afternoon no waders were needed. Here we took the wimps route mainly because I was excited about getting our takeaway later. Over the railway and up on to the canal which looked glorious in the late afternoon light (good work LP). At the second split we took the Rambo loop because it was advertised as being more interesting and by that I think it meant you got to risk your life over the sinking bridge. Dry land didn’t last for long as it was time to rock down to shiggy avenue back on to the canal.

Leaving the canal again a few bridges later we ended up in the Greendale Crew’s stomping ground up to Torrisholme Barrow which for the cool kidz out there it was the place for a moot back in the old Neolithic times and to bury your family. Also, can confirm a stunning viewpoint if the weather allows. Down yonder into fairy woods and wiggling through Bare to end up back on the prom with the sun still in the sky.

The newbie was very impressed but then again, he did have a wonderful guide and he looks forward to the drinking aspect like the good student he is.
