This was our 10th visit. We also visited on...
Despite all the exercise I've done during lockdown, I did spend a lot of the time, as usual, at the back so did not see a lot of things. One person who did not see at least one thing was Morticia who was so busy looking at the ladies standing in the river chatting that she ran straight into one of the bollards on the bridge! Still, Lurch was around to give her a magic rub so she was able to complete the trail - even joining the Rambos after the beer stop I think. Actually I had not expected a beer stop during a Full Moon run but the Hares had decided that we would celebrate getting back to "normal".
Once again the trail led the large pack, which included several new or newish runners and 2 dogs, along footpaths and through parts of Halton which, despite having lived in the area for over 40 years, I never knew existed. We even got to run along paths which are normally underwater when the River Lune is in spate. I understand that we ran past the home of Racey Miss who had a good moan about the amount of flour placed at her gate but, as she was a Rambo, I never heard any of that.
The circle was held on platform 1 of Halton Station. Fortunately no trains have been through there since Beeching wielded his axe so we were able to get on with down downs in safety and we also named Willy Wonky.
I had been worried that this run was going to be so long that we might be too late for supper at the pub but as it happened the pub kitchen was closed. Still, the evening was balmy and our local Chinese Take-away stays open late so, for me, it proved a lovely way to spend the evening and I even got to see the full moon when I was "putting the cat out" at midnight!
