This was our 1st visit. We also visited on...
Thirty or so people gathered for an event today and no one mentioned football, tennis, rugby or politics. What exotic group was this? LVH3 of course!!
What a relaxing, refreshing day - no strife, no arguments, just banter, humour, exercise, good food and beer in the beautiful setting that is Chez Late Cummer and Chapped Lips. Of course you have to earn the right to participate - an appropriate hash handle helps and 2FF today showed us that even as an FRB he is still 2FnFast - a great first r*n with us today - coming home first (perhaps more checks would have slowed him down a bit?).
Other visitors were also speedy - with Paparassi, Just Harry and Just Naomi also coming home quicker than we would expect for guests. All our visitors, first timers and guests agreed in the circle that it was long enough, hard enough and they would be coming again. I am advised that the Rambo group also included two Hardy Hashers from Dorset, Hard Astern and Ready About, Wonky Willie and Racey Miss, Lurch, Large Package and Forever Blowing.
On the route itself I have little to report due to extreme shortcutting but I did notice a horse that had been put out to pasture still wearing his Juventus kit, and a dominant bull that everyone ignored (nothing new there then). By this time I was struggling and was thinking about a shortcut back. Only two hashers were concerned for my lack of progress - thank you Twisted and Plucker - but I suspect from their questions that they just wanted whatever was in my bag. The rest of the pack just trampled over me as they went past - still nothing new there then.
The wimps had a bit more of an adventure - all taking credit for noticing that they had gone the wrong way, but none of them taking the blame - even though they had a map and WhiteNoise, probably the best map reader 'in the world' decided to let the young pups learn from their mistake - she was enjoying the longer walk - yeah right! It must have been hard for the Wimps to trail past a closed pub - they must have heard that Baldbrick was coming, it is of course a historic location for free food for him.
On back to the Covid Dodgers' abode to help them trash the place as they celebrated 40 years of wedded bliss - as family and friends were not allowed to travel, they had to make do with us instead. Many and various dishes were on offer, a wonderful meal, thank you - Baldbrick asked for some potato salad - It's coming - I replied
By this stage my mind had turned to football - it's that horse's fault - and I asked FB if she was coming home.
