This was our 8th visit. We also visited on...
A fine late summer morning, two ample village greens, birthday cake at the beer stop and a sociable al fresco lunch promptly served at the pub. What's not to like?
Well, for some perhaps, the allegedly long rambo split round and round Priest Hutton before finally reaching the beer stop at Borwick green, where the wimps were already well into the aforesaid home made cake. This was in honour of Exhibitionist's birthday the previous day which, despite intense interrogation, we were told was somewhere "north of twenty one"! Evidently the hash was just one in a long weekend of celebrations.
Happy Birthday Exhib.!
We had our first sighting of the late-starting Septics at the beer stop as they cruised in with the rambos. After beer stop resuscitation, Late Cummer was soon back in fine running form for the second half.
The trail took us to New England(!), where both hares were positioned to take portrait photos of passing hashers as we split, in lieu of the absent Hash Flash! Our scenic trail took us beside canal and river, under a railway viaduct and over a packhorse bridge.
Arrival back at O Kellet green in 2 hours was well timed. In the absence of our RA, religious advice was dispensed only for the most heinous offences - none of which I can now bring to mind. After many plaudits to the hares for a great hash, about 13 of us adjourned to the Eagle's Head.
Visitors Long Don Silver and Golden Hole from Nottingham were welcomed.
A late arrival met with some of us as we finished lunch - Half Cock, from Darwen. Having arrived very late and not picked up the trail, she'd spent time at Hest Bank beach before lunching at the Eagle's Head. No doubt we will welcome her on a future occasion.
OnOn to run 800!
