This was our 6th visit. We also visited on...
The Royal offers excellent dining facilities with an extensive main menu and a daily specials board, a large selection of cask ales and wines are available to compliment your meal.
The traditional inn also boasts a large beer garden by the canal, and a sports bar showing all the latest sporting events.
Full Moon runs don't often live up to the name, but this one surely did. It was a clear evening with a bright moon; the first of a succession of days when the temperatures plunged below zero.
Our ever resourceful hares made up for the evident shortage of flour by human involvement at strategic points. We had Cyber as a clear signpost for the first split and later a Cyber/Anti synchronised effort in which they elegantly created a human fishhook.
As the photos show, the whole pack was gathered by another deft hare technique, i.e. ensuring that the level crossing barriers were closed long enough for all to be reunited.
The second split allowed a scenic trail along the Shore before heading back inland.
At the circle it was revealed that so many hounds had gone astray at the very start that a large group down-down was enforced. It was inexplicable how so many failed to see the initial tiny spot of flour to set us on our way!
Many of us then enjoyed fine food, drink and conviviality at the Royal Hotel.
Thank you hares for a grand winter outing!
