This was our 1st visit. We also visited on...
Seven of us, plus 4 dogs(!) met at the On Inn in Burton on a beautiful morning.
Slack Bladder was appointed acting GM in the absence of other committee members who had gone to join the Newcastle Run on the Wall.
The Hares, Lurch and Morticia admitted that the Rambo split had not been set but would be if needed. We all agreed it wouldn't be!
Within the first 50 yards, we lost the trail and I became official measurer - measuring my length twice - thanks to potholes and barbed wire!
Having eventually picked it up, the trail proved to be well marked. The run was strenuous, climbing the hill towards Hutton Roof, but because of the glorious day our spirits were uplifted by the wonderful views all around.
We diverted from normal practice by having the circle at the beer stop because Slack Bladder had to leave to run his dogs (had they not run enough?).
Down downs were given to the hares, for a good run - even though we nearly lost some of the smaller hashers in the tall bracken, myself, for being careless and White Noise for boasting.
Forever Blowing amused us all by telling the tale of No More Cum's misadventures in Newcastle - although she had not been amused by the middle of the night phone calls.
Antiseptic escaped a down down because the circle had broken up before flatulence attacked!
Slack Bladder then departed in the car with Lurch and dogs whilst the rest of us completed the run down hill to the Inn.
