This was our 13th visit. We also visited on...
The Fleece Inn dates back to the early eighteenth century as an inn for travellers. Full of original period features such as old oak beams and fireplaces etc.
Well..it was all going so well..till the penultimate field! 😪
We had the sunshine, a superb location, a great turnout (especially lots of mini hashers), a fabulous On Inn planned at the end with food pre-ordered, plenty of drinks with my fave' peanut biscuits on offer at the Beer Stop and a chance to catch up with the wimps, a bespoke LVH3 Beer Stop sign, good company to run with, lots of off road sections (although somewhat muddy and ankle breaking in parts), fabulous scenery, lots of flour to steer by in the main....and then, we got lost in the biggest, wettest, muddiest field ever! 😒
We couldn't see the boundaries of this field so it took a hell of a lot of searching to find the way out. Not having run for months, I was losing the feeling in my legs...and the will to live! Finally, Forever Blowing made it back to the gate into the field and found the lonely bit of flour that marked the stile in the far distant corner near the barn...THANK GOODNESS ...and it was still daylight! 🙏
The wimps had waited for hours for us to get back to the car park so we quickly circled and thanked the hares. Large Package was awarded a DD from me for pathetic trail marking at the end despite his previous excellent track record on the rest of the hash. Think he had probably ran out of flour! 🙄
We named two of our mini hashers - Chatbot and Cookie Monster! You will all know who they are as they fit their hash names to a T!
Thanks Hares...great trail (except for the big field)!
