Galgate

R*n = 879 Full moon

Hare = STT

A beautiful warm night for a r*n. The r*n set off at 6.30 from The Plough at Galgate (apparently our 13th visit there). In the circle a new to us, but seasoned Hasher “Neighbourly” was welcomed into the clan. Solo hare STT warned us not to be late back as food was being served promptly at 7.45pm.

Nine hashers + a well-behaved dog set off speedily, well apart from Upperskirt and myself who were delayed crossing the road at Skew Bridge. The route, which was marked with plenty of flour to guide the way, took us through Ellel and the surrounding countryside. Unfortunately, if you’re exercising your vocal chords (putting the world to right’s) too much, the blobs of flour could be 2 foot in diameter and some of us would still miss them. Upperskirt & I certainly got our steps in that evening!!!!!!!

The Rambo’s made quick work of the route and caught up with, and overtook the stragglers and finished just as the moon was showing its face, it had well and truly surfaced by the time some of us got to the On Inn. The circle was very brief with a few virtual down down’s, due to some people being late back and dinner being served imminently. It was noted that Rockafella wasn’t wearing traditional Hashing attire and this misdemeanor was punished by appointing her as scribe.

A thoroughly lovely Hash was enjoyed by all & by the "Light of the Silvery Moon" (there’s a song in there somewhere!!). Thanks to STT for the trail and especially for guaranteeing the fab weather. Well worth £2. On On.
