LVH3 Hounds: Bubbles, Forever Blowing, Antiseptic, Cyberseptic, Baldbrick, Upperskirt, Major Twit and Minor Tw*t
Held at 7pm on 11th October 2005 from Halfpint's house, Settle
A goodly number from Harrogate H3 joined the r*n together with two 'professionals' from Settle Harriers - you know, proper runners!
By the time we formed our circle it was dark and following a quick briefing from the hare, we were off! We'd been briefed on markings which would include back arrows, regroups and we were told four blobs and you're on.
Through the streets of Settle we went meeting a mutlitude of open checks. We were escorted by the hare, who kept us from wasting too much time. Out in to the countryside with torches at the ready we followed the footpaths which led us to a stream which only Halfpint bothered to wade through. It was just after the stream we met our first back arrow. This had the desired effect of keeping the 'Harriers' busy until we all were gathered at the first regroup.
On up and up to more checks and through picturesque streets and out again into the country side. It was at the third back arrow that Baldbrick decided enough was enough and so gracefully covered the back arrow with fallen leaves. "What back arrow?" he proclaimed!
On through more footpaths and roads we arrived back to the centre of Settle at the last check. With torches dimming by now, we all arrived back at Halfpints at virtually the same time - a credit to the mastery of back arrows and regroups.
A circle followed in the kitchen where Baldbrick got his down down for obliterating the back arrow and Major Twit for shouting "How are you?" instead of some Yorkshire corruption of same. All this time the aroma of boiling rice and simmering curry was playing havoc with the nostrils and it was a welcome end to the circle when it was proclaimed - "Supper's ready!" Thank you Halfpint for a great run.
Thank you Brerphil for the wonderful food and thank you Harrogate for something.....
