This was our 1st visit to this On Inn.
Three dedicated hashers made the journey over to Bainbridge to meet up with thirteen others who'd been staying at Hawes YHA for their weekend away.
Speedbump and Dormouse were the hares for hash 848 and looking at Speedbump she must have tripped and fallen in her bag of flour with the amount she was wearing !!.The GM circled everyone up and gave us the usual speel and warned us not to cross and X or line across the path, so without further ado we set off in the direction of the Rose & Crown where we soon found blobs of flour from yesterdays hash which made it tricky finding today's trail, but with the help of LP (yesterdays hare) and Dormouse we soon made good progress onto fresh ground.
The route took us up past Mill Gill Waterfall and towards Whitefield Gill were leading rambo Hard astern's curiosity got the better of him after going in search of Whitefield Gill Force when he had a hash crash with a branch to his forehead, by this time RA,Morticia and Lurch had caught him up who was brisk walking the rambo route.
The rambos and wimps caught each other up near Askrigg, more fun and games finding our way out of a five way junction,as the check was nowhere near the style we needed.
At the rambo wimps split Dormouse with his carrier bag of flour stayed with the wimps whilst the rambos continued to Newbiggin,Nappa scar and Nappa Mill where the wimps rejoined them at the beer stop at Worton Bridge for beer and delicious homemade cake.
Once refreshed we set off on the last leg climbing up Worton Scar,Brough Scar and in no time at all we were back in Bainbridge.
Dormouse was happy as Larry sitting in the stocks on the village green posing for photos whilst Speedbump was left to lug the beer tubs across the grass.
Down downs were awarded to all five hares (Morticia,Lurch,LP,Speedbump and Dormouse ) from the last few days as circles weren't permitted for various reasons.
HA for his hash crash
And finally a group of ladies for going for a piddle on the trail.
All in all it was a well planned route.
Big Dibber.
