R*n 947: Kirkby Lonsdale

Thank you Bedtime Stories, Spare Rib, Spare Bed, Big Fish for setting yet another hash at short notice.

Today was Kirby Lonsdale where parking is at a premium and our hashers cars were spread where possible.

The A65 protected the countryside outside the town and 5 minutes spent looking for a break in the traffic. Wimps may have had an easier time further up the road.

Rambos crossed a big wide field and reached a crossing point with the wimps route. We would have been confused if not for the reassuring presence of front running hares (awarded a down down later). A stony and at times damp fissure surrounded by trees took us towards the Whittington road which we avoided temporarily in a field. In a while we swung down to the Lune and followed upstream to beer stop.

We headed further upstream around the outside of the rugby club near the Lune and then crossed various ginnels to get back to the car.

Ice creams of all manner of favour figured greatly in the post run refreshments.

Not many infringements: No hash haberdash, front running hares. Should have been for No More Cum's eloquent summary of conspiracies being enacted and for Baldbrick whinging about something. Mercifully I forget the details.

Yet another lovely trail. Lurch.
