Full MoonR*n 931 »

Halton

The last full moon of winter may be called the worm moon after the worm trails that would appear in the newly thawed ground. Other names include chaste moon, death moon, crust moon and sap moon. Whatever you call it, tonight's full moon rose in good time to be some help in following the trail, shining brightly from a cloudless sky.

The gathered hounds included Fur Coat who was last seen r*nning with the hash almost ten years ago! Come back soon FC!

Both the Rambos and Wimps enjoyed their tours of the village, the trails being generally well marked. There was somewhat of a conundrum in the middle however. A check at a road junction had two possible routes. Baldbrick took the straight on route which led to a chalked R. As a confirmed Wimp BB returned to the check and the Wimps tried the right turn instead, finding a W. All well and good, the check was not kicked out because the Rambos were still to come this way.

When the Rambos arrived they turned right, and discovered the W. LP posited that if there is a W there is probably an R as well. The Rambos therefore backtracked and tried the alternative route, r*nning into the R on this, their correct route.

All's well that ends well, and maybe this is something that could be used again in future. i.e. a check immediately before a W/R split.

The relative lengths of the splits must have been well calculated because all arrived back at the On Inn within a couple of minutes of each other. Fortunately the On Inn was expecting us. Why is this remakable? Because each hare thought the other had contacted the pub to make a booking, when in fact neither had!

On On!
