This was our 3rd visit. We also visited on...
Well if I did nothing else last night I made everyone laugh hysterically as I set off from the circle, decided not to take the steps down to the bridge, but went for the nice grassy slope. Half way down I realised I was skiing down a black slope without my skis. Flailing my arms I hurtled towards the River Wyre at increasing speed. So to avoid a swim I threw myself to the floor rolling in the mud. Dirty but uninjured and with the sound of hysterical laughter in my ears. I turned round to see UpperSkirt following me down the slope but on her backside! Sadly there is no photographic evidence!
The run was Bitter's virgin attempt at haring alone. SirTomTom said it was feast or famine on the farine front and certainly we had to hunt for the flour, but we didn't get lost and it was daylight until the last 10 minutes! Some good long checks and a Rambo split with an un-directional loop so Tightarse and BoneIdle did it one way and Morticia and I went anti-clockwise. We met each other half way round both insisting we were on trail. Which we were, but only then did Morticia realise that she was on the Rambo split!
Fortunately Twisted had joined us by this time, running the trail in reverse after a fitness class that was somehow more attractive than the Shiggy and flooded paths of her own hash! We all returned back to the carpark within minutes of each other. The sign of a well executed hash.
SteppingStones restaurant did not disappoint again, fabulous food and all served within 2 minutes of us all sitting down. A very convivial meal with 10 empty plates. We thought of Highway on his trek along Hadrian's wall enroute to the Great North Run. On on to the return of the Septics on Sunday.
