This was our 5th visit. We also visited on...
Regular beers from Hawkshead, Coniston Bluebird, Dent Brewery, Yates, Barngates and Tirril.
To Staveley in The Sun we pop,
To run the hash with a skip and a hop
Surprise, surprise, we are told we are late
This means, to write up our run will be your fate.
Syd and Madge have used the area many times in the past
But surprise; surprise lots of new views our eyes did cast.
Up the hill to test our fitness
On and on! to clear our stiffness
Through the forest and out by the wall
And surprise; surprise dramatic views of Kentmere hills so tall.
Onto the open fell by flour we were led
But surprise, surprise the Front Running Bas---------, were well ahead
The long run down was hard on the feet
But surprise; surprise the beer-stop we did meet.
Up the hill to Reston Scar then down the hill to home
And our thanks go to Highway for a fabulous run
And surprise; surprise all this without a moan.
LooseElastic was present but in her pregnant condition she did not run
Which was a good idea, as she did not know WHEN?
And surprise, surprise THREE days later there was a little BEN!
