This was our 9th visit. We also visited on...
By definition as appointed scribe I was last to arrive and just caught the end of Lurch's briefing: "follow the flour; mind the roots". We understood that Morticia had helped set the trail, but had more important things to do that evening (more important than the hash??).
As a small select group of hounds, we split neatly into 4 each of rambos and wimps, with Lurch nobly acting as back marker.
So we were off across dry ground with the last of a splendid sunset across Morecambe Bay ahead of us before we plunged into the first of several Silverdale woods (Eaves, Bottoms, Scout). These were of course well supplied with the aforementioned roots, strategically designed to trip the unwary. I can vouch for myself and fellow wimp STT that we were able to nimbly skip over such obstacles (believe that if you will!).
The well planned trail meant that we wimps neatly met the rambos as they emerged from their loop, though they soon moved ahead at a canter. A curious Q-shaped micro circle of flour beside a path had us guessing (just artistically dropped by a passing hare?).
It felt as though local residents were self-isolating as all was quiet in Silverdale. Without such distractions, we were more able to enjoy the eerie sound of owls hooting on our progress through woods. A circle was held, strangely without any misdemeanours declared but with suitable plaudits for the hares. Thank you L & M.
