Full Moon hash 4 December 2025
About 12 walkers and Rambos/runners turned up for what looked set to be a very wet, misty and “Wuthering Heights” style Full Moon Hash. However once the hash started, the rain seemed to keep away and we experienced a lovely romantic Full Moon emerging from the clouds – reflected on the canal, rivers and estuary we passed during the hash (see photos). The route headed out to Thurnham Mill and then along a very boggy canalside path to Glasson Dock housing estate and then around the Dock and back along the estuary embankment path.
Given the very wet conditions in the previous 48 hours, the course was very well marked with blobs of flour surviving the rain. However the fishhook on the bridge near the end, was very discrete (see photo of the two wooden posts!) and the runners missed the marks. So on finishing at the On Inn were cajoled by the Hare to go back and find the walkers, which also helped to keep the runners warm!
