R*n 430: Roeburndale

Sunday 22nd July 2012 at 11:00am Daytime

OK so even though I was a 'bio-hazard' I dragged myself off the sick bed and crawled into the back seat of Sir Tom Tom's hashmobile with Cyber and Feels - who were also 'bio-hazards', collected Baldbrick and went to the ON ON. Where was that? in this layby or that layby or where?  Maybe the other hashmobiles cruising the road would know - Forever Blowing didn't know and neither did Highway so we plumped for one and after a major shunting experience, parked!  Major Twit turned up and parked in the other layby and was later joined by the other hare who had gone home for a 'freshen-up'. Other hashmobiles arrived, including some visitors from Wirral and Chester (Another Mother Trucker) and Cambridge (Wimp. Elen Back and Jen).  It was great to see Shiggy Pop, Al and Rachel again too.

The hares gave us some instuctions, we checked it out and set off in beautiful, dry weather past the fluttering witches on their broomsticks - very effective. Unfortunately there was no hash flash for a photo as the official hash flash was missing and no hound had a camera.  The weather stayed dry throughout the whole hash and the only parts of our bodies to get wet were our feet, unless you were AMT, STT or Minor Tw*t who crashed and got other parts all wet and soggy. STT ended up with brown legs - a first cos they are usually very white! M Tw*t got wet knickers and I'm not sure what happened to AMT.

The trail was great and having arrived at the one and only fishhook most of us stayed around there and left the fishhooking to be done by Pudsley and Wimp - they did a marvellous job and rounded up the back markers admirably. From this very pictueresque bridge over a beck we trailed up and down and along through some great woodland to the beer stop.  Well softies stop!  After checking out the bridge and camping barn the trail led us back to the ON ON.

No beer! That is there was beer but it was locked in Morticia's car and she wasn't back. As soon as Pudsley saw Morticia in the distance he lept over the fence and this magnificent hound did his duty and ran back for the car keys - his army training came in useful! So with beer we had a circle in which the RA rushed through the misdemeanours, (Dormouse had down-downs for stuff that happened in the past, Speedbump, Cyber and Highway for hat wearing in the circle), he welcomed the visitors and with the odd interuptions for the Major and Minor to sell their lovely fresh free range hens eggs we drove off to the ON INN.
