‘The towpath is too easy’ r*n
Having got to the carpark of The Plough before the rain we actually got some instructions from the hare before we set off! Over the road and back to the village before picking our way along ‘dog-sh*t’ alley – lovely!
The moon came out from behind a cloud as we ran over fields, across the motorway, more soggy fields and eventually onto a road. Further along the road we found the hares lurking with some biscuits – NO BEER!
After some more instructions from the hare (has he taken pity on us hounds) 3 rambos, Cyber, Twisted and me, set off along the 2nd half of the trail while the wimps, Upper, Baldbrick and Bitter meandered back along the road to the pub.
We negotiated a roundabout and set off up a footpath I didn’t know was there – it led to some fields and, eventually, the canal. Great, we thought, back along the canal but NO the trail didn’t lead us onto the towpath but along a track which led us to the Glasson branch of the canal. Great, we thought, back along the canal but NO the trail didn’t lead us onto the towpath but along a very shiggy, bracken-tripping, nettle-laced strewn track which did lead us back to the pub.
Straight into the pub where the hares were sniggering gently to each other about the ‘towpath being too easy!’
A great r*n! Thank you The Hares.
