Hornby

Well I never…… hares that set a run then leave just before the hounds arrived … YES YOU were spotted..... by two early bird hounds!! Having done their bit the hares couldn’t be bothered to stay around; things to do, people to see, places to go……………

In anticipation of their ‘no show’, hare Cyber graciously provided a map of the route, which he gave to Forever Blowing in advance, with strict instructions that it was only to be consulted in an emergency.

The Hares-less, GM-less and RA-less pack of LVH3 hounds gathered in the appointed carpark and waited for instructions - Forever Blowing again came to the rescue and welcomed, the visitors, regulars and not the so regulars, to the run. After minimal instructions we were told to ‘check it out’.

So off the pack set on a glorious sunny summer evening for what the ‘no show’ hares claimed would be a short hash……………..well is wasn’t, but that’s not a surprise; when it comes to Hash trails Cyber and Antiseptic are not to be believed.

The trail took us away from Hornby across fields and towards Wray, after a fishhook the Wimps and Rambos went their separate ways. The Rambo trail went up and up and up then no flour or chalk was visible – YES the farmer had done it again – all evidence of chalk and flour had been thoroughly removed from the public footpath over his land– this wasn’t the first time that this hospitable farmer had sabotaged a LVH3 trail……shame on him.

Fortunately, Forever Blowing had been prewarned that this may occur by the ‘no show’ hares and so was prepared for it this eventuality and consulted the map saving the Rambos miles and hours of searching and searching…….

The Rambo route took us over more fields, through woods, fields of frisky bullocks and hectares of shiggy, followed by more shiggy - just when I thought it couldn’t get worse - it did.

While following the Rambo trail Flash and Virgin Micheala took it upon themselves to shortcut – a wise move indeed, as they avoided the extensive shiggy experience.

Amazingly the majority of the pack arrived back at the carpark within 5 minutes of each other, but after a longer than usual full moon run there was no time for a circle as food was much needed.

Thanks, Cyber and Antiseptic for arranging such fantastic weather, a lovely trail and an awesome amount of fresh shiggy…………

You were missed
