This was our 1st visit to this On Inn.
LVH3 run 924 was in th depths of the Bowlands, around the beautiful Wyre And Tarnbrook rivers starting from close to their confluence at Abbeystead. Our opening circle introduced our hares Fiddler and Neighbourlee who was a virgin hare for LVH.
Immediately from the circle, like 2 shepherds, our hares rounded up the pack into 2 units. Fidler escorting Wimps one way and Neighbourlee escorting Rambos LP, RA, Lurch the opposite way. The pack would spread out sniffing for trail and the shepherd would call us back to his chosen route. This happened a few times, then everyone just followed the hare.
Glorious hashing took us up the river Wyre until we reached the road to Trough of Bowland where we headed back on tarmac for a while. We entered damp fields to meander over the slight watershed to Tarnbrook. LP expressed his pleasure at allowing him to catch up (we didn't). But to keep him happy we permitted him to proceed at various stiles and gates.
We caught up with wimps BB, US, STT, FCS, Morticia at the beer stop.
Down Downs or remarks: for being a virgin hare - Neighbourlee; Being too polite - Lurch; For existing - Lurch; Father Christmas look-a-like competition winner - Large Package; for being on the cusp of his 70th birthday - Baldbrick.
Great run
Lurch.
